Student Intern
Aaron is a sophomore in the Accelerated Physician-Scientist Program (BS/MD) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College. Prior to joining the Indzhykulian lab in the Fall of 2022, Aaron has worked in the Shakarjian Lab at New York Medical College, where he studied the efficacy of various pharmacotherapies in reducing seizures induced by a GABAAR antagonist neurotoxin, and as a clinical research intern in the Department of Pediatric Endocrinology at Atlantic Health System. He is primarily interested in exploring how gene mutations affect the brain’s ability to process external stimuli. In the lab he will primarily work on studies that aim to rescue the vision deficit in the mouse model of Usher syndrome.
