Olga Strelkova, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Olga Strelkova earned her Master’s Degree in Physiology, Cell Biology and Histology (2011) and her PhD in Cell Biology (2018) from the Moscow State University in Russia. In her PhD work, Dr. Strelkova studied the DNA organization and chromatin packaging during the cell cycle using various super-resolution fluorescence microscopy and electron microscopy techniques. In July of 2018, Olga joined the Indzhykulian laboratory for her postdoctoral training to apply her expertise in microscopy and molecular biology to the challenging questions in the hearing field. Her work in the laboratory is focused on investigating the function of novel proteins at the surface of the hair cell stereocilia. In a separate project, Dr. Strelkova develops gene therapy tools to rescue the deafness phenotype in mice.
